Guest:  Jill Kessler, Rottweiler Magazine Editor, breeder, dog expert & dog writer

Show Topics: Test your ethical self; which situation is the worst of three examples of animal cruelty from the news  then hear about some radical simple, easy effective solutions for your town or city.

Olympics and a possible boycott to support Tibet is in the news, as bird flu scare continues to appear and disappear the latest time this week in a remote village in China, and more products are yet again declared unsafe including many plastics imported from China and this is making legislation change to regulate imports and keep north Americans safe.  But what about the Chinese workers? And what about the athletes running in pretend conditions because real conditions are too dangerous doesn’t that mean real Chinese people are in danger every day and of course because of rain and weather and the flows of the earth, we all share the toxins in our water and air for years to come.

Deborah calls for a broadening of the debate.   A busted Arizona puppy mill,  the Carolina pregnant dog dumped by politician in charge of shelter’s fate, Puerto Rico’s dead dog beach.   Deborah gives a few examples of dogs gone out of control where there are no workable solutions due to remote locations with no Vets and no possibility of controlling population through spay and neuter.  Jill joins in to give some solutions to these problems.  Anti breeding laws don’t work. They punish the good guys and create demand for imported dogs along with the parasites, and rabies that are coming too. Animal rights activists vs Animal Welfare workers and what happens when politicians get wrong advice according to Jill.

ONE GOLDEN DOODLE  IS  AVAILABLE to be  donated and matched with the right family with special needs.  We are looking for a family that has an autistic child and is connected to P.A.D.S. or a similar assistance dog society and is waiting for a dog.  Our pups are half Standard Poodle, half Golden Retriever.  They are ideal for service work especially the type of safety buddy, friendly escort work required by an autistic kid who wants to walk around the block and interact with his brothers and sisters and their friends.   Golden Doodles train like Goldens which most programs are designed for and in most cases are a little bit faster to learn things (as poodles are generally smarter than goldens) but the cross gives the added bonus of non shedding properties.  Please send appropriate families to www.campgooddog.com to tell us about your family.  (Other special needs circumstances are also eligible.)  You can go to our website to see photos of the pups  that are for sale, their parents or just look up pet solutions to your pet problems (free) and listen to best of award winning radio shows too.

Jill logs in on the mailman debate suggesting an airhorn as the best defense against pestering dogs.  She walks a rottweiler and packs of  tiny foo foo dogs attack. The air horn works for Jill and her mailman and the UPS van too.  Obey barriers and signs at zoos or wherever animals and nature could harm visitors.  Make sure your kids obey too.  Deborah reports a mauling at a zoo when a girl is coached to pose behind a barrier and too close for a photo.  Do you know what a lion can do with its nails, teeth and jaw? Deborah will tell you.  There are more tigers as pets in North America than there are in the wild.
